Remke's cable entry plates - BRM12 expanded view.Need to save space, time and money?  Cable entry plates achieve all three in one simple design.  These are a handy addition to any electricians solution toolbox.  They allow for multiple un-connectorized cables and wiring to securely pass through an opening taking up a much smaller footprint than multiple cable glands or cord grips.

At a very compact opening cut out size of just 112 mm x 36 mm (4.41 in. x 1.42 in.), Remke’s cable entry plate system has an extremely small footprint but delivers big in the way of cable and wire management solutions.  Using the built in clips, Remke cable entry plates simply click in place, or you can secure the cable entry gland plate with 4 screws (optional: M4 x 0.7 x 20 mm,  Fitted with an M3 Allen Head).  The cable entry plate itself measures 148 mm x  60 mm x 13. 5 mm (5. 83 in x 2.36 in x 0.531 in) and comes in either 12 entry or 23 entry configurations.  Clamping ranges for the 12 hole cable entry plates are 5.0-13.0 mm (0.197-0.512in) and 4.0-8.5mm (0.157-0.335 in) for the 23 hole cable entry plate.

Because these plates have built in strain relief they are perfect for situations where vibration may occur, such as in marine applications.  They are also heat rated to 176° F, and also meet and exceed NEMA 4X, UL 508A, UL 50E and CSA C22.2 No. 14-18.  They are UL listed and perform to IP65 levels.

Remke Improves Worker Safety with the Melni Crimpless Butt Splice Connector

A SAFER AND FASTER ALTERNATIVE TO CRIMPING

VERNON HILLS, IL April 26, 2018 –The Melni Crimpless Butt Splice Connector is revolutionizing the electrical industry by drastically decreasing connector install time and creating a safer environment for electrical workers. Invented by Mark Melni, the connector was initially featured on ABC’s Shark Tank and Remke is proud to be the Leading Distributor of Melni Connectors for the electrical industry.

The Melni connector also recently won the Electrical, Construction, & Maintenance (EC&M) Magazine’s Product of the Year Award! This annual competition recognizes excellence in new product development for the electrical industry. The EC&M panel of judges and readers’ poll base their decision on inventiveness in product design, and improvements in safety and efficiency. We are incredibly proud to receive this honor from a leading voice in the industry.

Melni Connectors for Direct Burial and Submersed Applications - Remke.com

Drastically reduce installation time.

While traditional direct burial and submersible connectors require hydraulic tools, specialized dyes, shrink wraps, and heat tools, all you need to install the Melni Butt Splice Connector is prepped cable and a standard wrench. Installation can happen in less than a minute!

Simply insert stripped cable into the Melni Connector, twist the end caps to tighten the patented spiral insert, and tighten the waterproof caps. The time working with live wires is greatly reduced along with exposure to open flames and heat tools, making the installation area safer for workers without sacrificing a reliable connection.

“I tested both the traditional crimping method and the Melni Connector side by side in a direct burial application,” says Chris Rogers, Journeyman/Lineman, “the length of install time was more than cut in half, ten to one I would use the Melni Connector over a crimp splice any day, it’s incredibly simple.”

The Melni Butt Splice Connector:

- Is rated for AL/CU, excessive force and strain on muscles and joints doesn’t have to be part of the job description anymore.
- Is waterproof, the sealing caps that compress a neoprene busing around the cable protects the connection inside and out.
- Simplifies your toolbox, it’s no longer necessary to keep a list of things needed to make a proper connection like the hydraulic crimper, proper dies, tapes and shrink wraps.

“We are interested in any product that enhances our customers safety and lightens their load,” says Mark Sweeney, President and COO of Remke Industries. “The Melni Connector is a breakthrough technology and we are proud to serve as the leading distributor of the product line for the electrical industry.”

Melni’s patented spiral insert technology collapses around the conductor as the end caps are tightened, no crimped needed, resulting in a safe, dependable connection. Drastically cut time and labor with the Melni Connector and reduce the lengthy process requiring multiple measurements, tool change outs, and crimps. No open flames, less time exposed to live wires, and decreased use of hydraulic crimpers reduces risk and increases safety during install.

Remke is Setting a New Standard in the Electrical Industry with the Melni BD-2HLS Crimpless Connector

A SMARTER 2-HOLE LUG THAT TAKES CRIMPING OUT OF THE EQUATION

WHEELING, IL October 6, 2017 –The BD-2HLS is a mechanical connector that can replace existing commercial, mechanical, and crimp-style connectors. Its crimpless installation design and spiral insert technology simplifies the connection process making it safer, easier and less expensive. Invented by Mark Melni, the connector was initially featured on ABC’s Shark Tank. Remke is proud to be the leading Distributor of Melni Connectors for the electrical industry.

While traditional 2-hole lugs are non-range taking, the Melni BD-2HLS accepts anything between 2/0 AWG and #2AWG, spanning a large range of cable and wire sizes, and drastically reducing installation time.

BD-2HLS Melni Connector 2-Hole Lug

The BD-2HLS is all that’s required for a variety of electrical applications - having multiple lug sizes and specialized dies on hand isn’t necessary anymore. In the past, electrical connections required multiple measurements, tool change outs and crimps. With the Melni BD-2HLS, an everyday wrench is all that’s needed to forge a fast and reliable connection.

The Melni BD-2HLS:
- Exceeds the UL secureness standards by over 250 pounds and is ergonomically better than any other traditional crimping tool on the market today.
- Is UL rated for both aluminum and copper cabling, reducing the number of tools required for daily installations.
- Is applicable across the electrical industry and will most certainly change how Power Lineman, Electrical Contractors, High Voltage Electricians, Construction Lineman and others install power, splice or change-out cords and cable, making their job faster and safer.

“Mark’s invention would be virtually “tool-less” and could easily replace many different existing wire terminations and could be properly installed without specialized training,” says Ron Rinehart, Manager at Consolidated Electrical Distributors. “I am eagerly awaiting production of this wire terminal and would be willing to stock and support promotion and sale of the end-product to our electrical contractors, OEM and industrial customers.”

“As the leading Distributor of Melni Connectors for the electrical industry, we are pleased to partner with a company that’s producing original solutions that result in quick, reliable and safe connections for our customers,” say Mark Sweeney, President and COO of Remke Industries.

Melni’s spiral insert technology collapses around the conductor as the nut on the end of the connector is tightened, resulting in a complete wrapping of the conductor with the Melni Connector. The elements inside the connector constrict down on top of the conductor, creating a perfect environment for the electrical transfer. This process eliminates the time-consuming, unreliable and expensive crimping, soldering and wrapping that is prevalent with many current electrical connectors today.

A key difference between the Remke MC Cable Connector and competitor versions is our PowR-Lock™ Grounding Seal.  The 1-piece construction of the grounding tines and the bushing - an exclusive Remke design - means that the seal can’t come apart and won’t get lost in the field.  The PowR-Lock Grounding Seal is also smaller in profile and width than those from other manufacturers making it a better fit in tight spaces.

cable-connectors&cord-grips-metal-clad-cable-connectors-aluminumLabor & cost savings are another advantage for those using jacketed cable and Remke MC Cable Connectors. Savings upward of 50% can be realized on the total installation cost versus pipe & wire.

Because MC cable can be installed right off the reel, fewer tools, equipment & laborers are required.  The time-consuming task of bending conduit is eliminated and there is much less scrap which means less waste (e.g. cost).

MC cable installation requires fewer than half the steps of pipe and wire installation.

Features of Remke Metal Clad Cable Connectors include:

  • Available in sizes up to 4 inches & 3 different materials – aluminum, nickel plated aluminum and stainless steel
  • Speed & Ease of Use – no disassembly required….simply tighten when cable reaches bottom of the connector

What we have Learned in the Past 50 Years

Five things Remke has learned that will make the next 50 years incredible:

1. Provide personal service
2. Make quality connectors the first time
3. Stay nimble
4. Deliver quality through simplicity of design and production
5. Treat employees well

It's taken 50 years to become a premier manufacturer of electrical connectors, cord grips and more, building Remke Industries from the ground up.

During that time, they have experienced growing pains, worked hard to achieve many victories, had unexpected successes and fought recession that kept them awake at night.

Remke has found new ways to use time-tested materials and methods to create better electrical connectors, in shorter production runs. A foundation of amazing people has been built and they've learned lessons from every one of them, from customers to employees, past and present.

But this isn't going to be one of those articles where backs are patted for how great the past 50 years have been. They're in the past. And although they are important, eyes are set on the future.

And the future is so bright Remke needs industrial-strength sunblock.

They've gained the wisdom, insight and expertise it takes in the first 50 years to launch new levels of success, service and innovation during the next 50.

5 Things Remke Learned in the First 50 Years to Make the Next 50 Incredible

  1. Personal service to exceed expectations by delivering very personal service, understanding what customers really need to succeed, and then exceeding expectations has been paramount to everyone at Remke. It's what makes a new customer happy, and creates loyal customers that rely on them to solve problems and offer solutions.
  2. Make the right connector the first time by fully understanding customers' needs
The way to deliver the right electrical connector the first time is to fully understand a customer's needs. It's also an integral part of providing personal service. This philosophy has led Remke to create high-quality electrical connectors that work the right way, the first time, and are reliable for a long time.
  3. Stay nimble in every situation to learn and apply knowledge. Future progress depends on the learning curve. With so much changing in technology, materials and manufacturing, staying nimble is crucial. Being a small company helps Remke stay flexible to meet the specifications of each customer, not just supply products.
  4. Simplicity of design and production delivers quality in small quantities. A cutting edge production environment helps Remke deliver custom solutions to all types of companies, big and small, for all types of requirements. From short, custom production runs to large runs of stock electrical connectors, they have everyone covered. It's one way to simultaneously see each tree, as well as the entire forest.
  5. Treat employees well for long term success: Remke's employees take care of customers, and each other. Treating them right means they treat customers well. It's a cycle that centers on people, and theirs are some of the best. This commitment to employees has created a core group that's been loyal for decades. Offering opportunities to grow and learn gives employees a reason to care about their jobs and the customers they serve. They take care of customers, and Remke takes care of them.

With eyes set keenly on the future, and 50 years' experience under their belts, Remke is excited about the coming years! They are working on new, innovative ways to deliver the right electrical connectors to you. Watch Remke.com for more information.
