New Molded Connector Solves Previous Connection Deficiencies with Added Benefits
Design Flaws Of Connector Affect System Performance
The Challenge:
A global manufacturer of flow measurement and control products was using a hand-wired connector with its pressure transducer on an outdoors meter. Reliability of the connector was a concern as was excessive noise that interfered with signal integrity from the transducer to the control system. In addition, hand wiring the connector was time consuming and its design was not waterproof or tamper-resistant, both of which are imperative in a gas meter application.
The Remke Solution:
The sales and product development team created a new type of molded connector assembly to meet the customers’ needs. Designed to be industrial-grade, the flexible Remke connector was tamper resistant, offered IP 68 and NEMA 6P protection and featured a 360º aluminum mylar foil shield to minimize electrical interference. This new connector assembly also provided mechanical protection to the housing of the pressure transducer.
The customer says that the Remke flexible connector assembly will “more than adequately solve the previous connection deficiencies and provide additional benefits as well.
